A Horror Story & Oppinion of a Local Landlord

The views expressed in this article are those of a reader and is there opinion and story as to there treatment by a landlord in the Arkadelphia area. This article is displayed as it was sent to this author in its entirety other than the parties address of the rental property has been removed for there protection.



“Just would like to share my Huber horror story with you. Also forgot to put into the complaint, he said there was central heat...there is no heat at all so we are surviving the winter with nothing.

 A whole website dedicated to what a dick Huber is? Totally amazing. Right now my roommates and I are fighting an uphill battle against that sadist. He literally told us he would not fix anything in our house and that even though our front door has no lock that he would not fix it because "if someone wanted to break in they would come through the window anyway"...seriously Huber?

We moved into [ADDRESS REMOVED], Arkadelphia on Aug 21st 2011. He stated on his website and told us that the property would be available and cleaned professionally by August 15th.
A few days after we moved in we were visited by a police officer who informed us that we would not get our deposit back ($750)...we didn't even ask, he just informed us out of courtesy I suppose?

When we pulled up in the moving truck on Aug 21st the previous renters were still living there! They informed us that Huber had charged them for the rest of August (he charged us for the last weeks of August also). They were kind and only took a few hours to vacate the premises, but the house was a mess and in poor condition.
Pictures from when we moved in are included...yes included is an old pan of brownies still in the oven, a trash bag of dirty dishes just sitting on the kitchen floor, horrible nasty stains on the carpet (though this is supposed to be a smoke free property), a horribly plugged sink...and just general filth. The backyard is also not mowed and full of filled trash bags, screens are torn, the front porch door was just hanging by a thread and had to be completely removed, there are exposed wires everywhere, water leaks and water damaged floors, and most of the doors won't even close. We get all of this for the great deal of $750 a month! It was so trashy we just don't even feel like cleaning it ourselves and letting that dick get away with it. We didn't even get a chance to meet the crook when we signed our lease, I still have yet to meet him.

So this is what we saw when we moved into our lovely new home on August 21st.

I only wish I would have taken more pictures on moving day but this is all I have. We really have lost hope on getting out of our lease after finding out he is a lawyer and a justice of the peace. Not to mention he probably has half the town in his pocket and we have no money for court.”

The White Elephant or Ahabs White Whale You Decide!

As stated in previous post this author had obtained a file concerning property owned or managed by Huber Rentals and then Justice of the Peace Jonathan Huber. The White Elephant Apartments is a residential apartment complex located in Clark County, Arkansas more precisely 4090 HWY 67S Arkadelphia.

In the time frame from August 15, 2008 to April 10, 2009  the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality or ADEQ, Clark County Health Unit contact Mr. Huber in regards to a  “…severe existing sewage malfunction while several people are living in these apartments. The situation creates a substantial public health risk…”  “…that raw, untreated sewage is discharging on the ground from structures at the above location. This is a violation of Arkansas Law, and could pose a significant public health risk for the occupants at this location and people in vicinity….”

After numerous attempts to reach Mr. Huber for his “ immediate attention” (emphasis in original) according to the file Mr. Huber failed to respond with in the allotted time to the point that consideration of actions being taken as Mr. Huber’s “… continued lack of cooperation in this matter could subject…” him “… to formal enforcement action. Such action could include but would not be limited to monetary civil penalties…” and that parties would “…file charges through the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and notify Gum Springs Water of the situation, so they may evaluate whether or not to disconnect water service to this location. …” And to think these peoples services we in jeopardy, for Mr. Huber lack of response, sound like a very familiar story. The Turning Of A New Year

It has been a year sense the last post on this Blog. I had taken some time off for reasons that will be exposed on this Blog in future posts. And had every intention of not returning, but after recent developments in the media and court system as well numerous e-mails from readers and the issues they have encountered I feel it is more of a duty to return. And intend to continue on in the up coming year. I want to thank my readers and supporters for there words of encouragement.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hearing Reset Due To Conflict Of Interest.


The hearing was reset from December 14th  to a future un-disclosed date due to a conflict of interest.  Mr. Huber is representing Mr. Maxwell. This was brought to the attention of Judge Randy Hill and the Caddo Valley City Prosecuting Attorney Madeline Bennington, both seemed to have no problem with the individual who by Mr. Maxwell’s spontaneous omission had ordered the act committed in the Stealing of the Central Air unit, and is also representing the accused. This seems like a travesty of justice both for the victims and the accused. How does either party get a “fair” trial? This is especially the case, when the accused is being represented and manipulated by a person who has an active interest in the out come of the trial and is not impartial.
How can Mr. Huber truly be looking out for the best interest of his client when it is his own interests at stake. That will be a determination made both by the Arkansas Bar & Arkansas Ethics Commission as to how culpable parties involved are in the handling of this case.
Never the less a new Judge is being assigned due to Stacie Huber being the Court Clerk for Judge Randy Hill interesting is Mrs. Huber was present the day of Mr. Maxwell’s hearing showing an active interest in this case.
Odd Judge Hill did not recuse himself on his OWN, knowing that Jonathan Huber was a Justice of the Peace for Clark County as well the husband of his Court Clerk, who also has an active interest in the out come of Mr. Maxwell’s fate.
How are victims rights being protected, the sole purpose of the court system, was to stop violence in the streets/vigilantly justice and to create a place for parties to air their deference in a “fair” & “impartial” system. It would seem more and more our “system”  has and is slanting to who knows whom to make decisions in a case. 
For a victim to get a “fair” and “impartial hearing”; the victims must take a standpoint to be heard and address the court themselves, or stand silent while your chance of justice is corroded by back-patting politicians and apple polishers.

Trial Date Set!

In regard to the hearing scheduled for October 26, 2010 in Caddo Valley City Court. A not guilty plea was entered by the accused Huber Rental employee Greg Maxwell. A trial date has been set for. December 14, 2010 . Seem s a VERY long ways away from the commission of the crime, but that also moves it WELL past the November elections, very interesting.

Lt. Governor Candidate Mark Darr Political Presence or False Propaganda

This author has seen a number of signs for Mark Darr who is running for Lt. Governor in Arkansas. One of these is even in the front window of Huber Property Rentals in Arkadelphia, owned by Attorney & Justice of the Peace Jonathan Huber. First off anyone Huber supports we do not and would further encourage others not.
After seeing that and remembering having seen a number of these same signs displayed all over the area the wheels began to turn. Low and behold they are present on Huber Properties.

Huber’s lease states: “Lessor reserves the right to place political signs on the premise. Campaign signs placed by Lessee must be approved by Lessor prior to placement on property.”


   This means that just because you see a sign on your neighbor’s property, if it’s owned or managed by Huber Rentals they may not truly be supporters of the politician or proposition displayed.
  Furthermore, Huber himself is granted the power too decide WHO gets political coverage. So if a tenant supports a certain person or proposition and Huber does not then; Huber can restrict the tenets rights to free speech and voter rights by not allowing them to display a sign of who or what the TENANT supports if Huber disagrees.
  Not sure who Justice of the Peace Huber believes he is or makes him believe he has the right to do this, but appears he is suffering from delusions of grandeur.
  I thought we left tyrants for this country many years ago and that many people have given their lives over the years, so that we have FREEDOMS such as the ability to exercise free speech and protection from harassment for political beliefs.
  Seems by his actions Justice of the Peace Huber has a total disregard for those lives lost and rights earned at the cost of MANY American lives.

As for Lieutenant Governor Candidate Mark Darr who if apart of such skullduggery, you are not a person we Arkansans’ would want supporting our rights if you have to force your political signs on to others to get coverage and violate the Constitution by not allowing free speech; one thing ALL Americans hold dear. How can we expect you to perform properly when in office? If you do not value these fundamental rights, shame on you sir!
To the voters PLEASE take the time to ask your friends, neighbors, or family member do you support this person and what is you’re thoughts on their agenda, especially if it a property managed or owned by Justice of the Peace Huber, because there is no justice in false propaganda!
